Uber/Didi/Ola Driver
Registering for ABN
Do I need to register for ABN as an Uber/Didi/Ola Driver?
As per the Australian Taxation Office (ATO) all ride-share driver partners (driving through Uber, Didi, Ola, etc.) MUST register for Australian Business Number (ABN) with GST.
Please note: having an ABN doesn’t mean you’re automatically registered for GST.
Do I need to register for GST if my turnover is less than $75,000?
As an Uber, Didi, Ola driver, irrespective of your income, you must account for GST on all earnings. This means that even if you only earn a total of AUD $50 as a driver, you will still need to register for GST and declare the income on your tax return.
